What "custom design" actually means

We don't use Squarespace, Wix, or template builders. Every site is coded from scratch — clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — or built on a lean headless stack when the project calls for it. No plugin bloat, no proprietary lock-in, no compromises on performance.

This matters because Google ranks fast, clean, semantic sites. Template platforms carry hundreds of kilobytes of dead code and limit how well you can optimize. A custom-built site loads in under two seconds, scores well on Core Web Vitals, and gives search engines exactly what they need to rank you.

No templates. No page builders. No exceptions. Every site we deliver is production-quality code — the same standard used by the tech companies and agencies charging 5–10x more. The difference is we don't have that overhead, and the savings go to you.

The build process, start to finish

Six stages. Clear timeline before any work starts. You're never waiting and wondering.

01
Discovery
30–60 min call. Your business, your goals, your competitors, your ideal customer. Nothing gets designed until we understand what the site actually needs to do.
02
Strategy
Page structure, content map, keyword targets, conversion flow. You get a written brief before design starts — no surprises mid-project.
03
Design
Visual mockup of key pages for your review and approval before a single line of code is written. Two revision rounds included.
04
Build
Approved design gets coded. Mobile-first, accessibility-ready, performance-optimized. You can follow progress in a private staging environment.
05
Review
Full QA across devices and browsers. You test the staging site and flag anything that needs adjusting. Nothing goes live before you sign off.
06
Launch
Deploy to live hosting, connect your domain, verify Google Analytics and Search Console, confirm everything works. Site goes live and we monitor for 72 hours.

What every website includes

The technical foundation that comes standard on every build — no upsell.

  • Custom code — zero templates, zero page builders
  • Mobile-first, tested on iPhone, Android, and tablet
  • On-page SEO: titles, descriptions, heading structure, image alt text
  • Schema markup (JSON-LD) for rich search results
  • XML sitemap + robots.txt configured correctly
  • Google Analytics 4 + Search Console connected and verified
  • SSL certificate (HTTPS) — non-negotiable in 2026
  • Contact form with spam protection
  • Core Web Vitals optimized — images compressed, code minified

Monthly maintenance — what we actually do each month.

  • Hosting on fast, redundant servers — 99.9% uptime SLA
  • Security patches applied as they release, not on a schedule
  • Uptime monitoring with instant alerts — we know before you do
  • Content updates — hours per month vary by plan
  • Monthly performance check and brief traffic summary
  • Backup copies maintained — full restore if anything ever goes wrong

Domain, hosting and handoff — how it all works

You register your domain — or we help you if you don't have one yet. Domain registration is always in your name, on your account. We handle hosting on our servers and connect your domain via DNS.

If you ever want to leave: you take your domain, we provide a complete export of every file and folder in the site, and we help point your domain to wherever you're moving. No hostage websites, no ransom fees, no 90-day offboarding process.

You own everything. Full stop.

The code is yours. The content is yours. The domain is yours. Google Analytics data is in your account. Search Console is in your account. We are a service provider, not a platform with you as a tenant.

When we hand off a site, you receive: all source files, full hosting credentials, domain registrar access, Google Analytics property ownership, and written documentation of everything that was set up. If RC Marketing ceased to exist tomorrow, your site would keep running and you'd have everything needed to hand it to someone else.

Paid ads that actually pay off

Google Search and Meta ads for local businesses. You set the ad budget — I manage everything else: targeting, creative, copy, optimization.

  • Google Search & Display campaigns
  • Meta (Facebook / Instagram) ads
  • Geo-targeted to your service area
  • Ad creative written and designed
  • A/B testing on all ad sets
  • Weekly performance reports
  • Revenue attribution tracking

Weekly + monthly
Why 10% of revenue? Because it means RC Marketing only wins when you win. If the ads don't drive revenue, the 10% is zero. Incentives stay aligned — no hiding behind vanity metrics.

What "full management" actually means

You approve a budget. We handle everything else — account setup, keyword research, audience targeting, ad copywriting, creative production, bid strategy, conversion tracking, A/B testing, daily monitoring, weekly reports, and monthly strategy reviews.

You are not logging into Google Ads and trying to decode Quality Scores. You are not guessing which audience to target on Meta. You get a weekly report that tells you what the ads spent, what they drove, and what we're doing about it.

How a campaign gets built

Seven stages from signed contract to live campaigns generating results.

01
Business audit
Your offer, competitive landscape, service area, average deal value, and what "a good lead" actually looks like for you.
02
Research
Keyword research (Google) or audience profile (Meta). Competitor ad analysis. Seasonal demand patterns. Search volume by location.
03
Architecture
Campaign structure, ad groups, match types, bidding strategy, budget allocation across campaigns. Built for scale, not just launch.
04
Creative
Ad copy written, images sourced or designed, headlines A/B tested from day one. At least 3 creative variants per ad set.
05
Tracking
Conversion tracking for calls, form submissions, and (where applicable) purchases — all connected to the ad account before anything goes live.
06
Launch & Optimize
Campaigns go live. Daily pacing checks for the first two weeks, then ongoing: weekly bid adjustments, negative keyword management, creative refresh, and monthly budget review.

Google Search vs Meta — which platform fits your business

Most local businesses should start with Google Search. Here's the honest breakdown.

Intent-based
Google Search
Captures demand that already exists. Someone searches "emergency plumber" or "roof inspection cost" — your ad appears. Higher purchase intent, typically higher cost-per-click, faster path to a booked job. Best for: home services, professional services, urgent-need businesses.
Awareness-based
Meta (Facebook + Instagram)
Reaches people who match your ideal customer profile before they're actively searching. Better for visual services, high-consideration purchases, or retargeting visitors who didn't convert. Best for: contractors, remodeling, retail, any service with a strong visual component.

Our honest recommendation: We'll tell you which platform actually makes sense before you spend a dollar. Running Google and Meta simultaneously isn't always the right move — sometimes it just doubles management complexity without doubling results. We'd rather get one platform right than two platforms mediocre.

Your ad budget and how it flows

Your ad spend goes directly from your card to Google or Meta — RC Marketing never touches it, never marks it up. We recommend a starting budget based on your market, not a number that maximizes our 10%.

Starting range
Google Search
$600–1,500/month ad spend is effective for most local markets. Competitive industries (lawyers, insurance, home services) often start at $1,500+.
Starting range
Meta Ads
$400–900/month ad spend for awareness and lead gen. Lower floors than Google, but creative quality matters more — bad creative burns budget fast.
Your visibility
Full account access
You have read access to every account we manage on your behalf. See exactly what was spent, on what, and when. No black boxes, ever.

Revenue attribution — how the 10% is calculated

From day one, we set up conversion tracking that connects ad clicks to real business outcomes: phone calls, form submissions, booked appointments, and (where applicable) purchases. Every conversion is tagged with its source campaign.

At the end of each month, we calculate the revenue directly attributable to campaign-driven conversions. That total is what the 10% is applied to. You receive a report showing the calculation with source data — no estimate, no rounding in our favor.

Why performance-based pricing?

Most agencies charge a flat percentage of ad spend — which means they make more when you spend more, regardless of whether it's working. We think that's backwards. Our 10% of revenue model means we only earn more when you earn more. If the campaigns don't drive revenue, the 10% is zero.

The $500 management fee covers our time. The 10% makes our incentives identical to yours.

What an automation actually is — in plain terms

An automation watches for something to happen — a form submission, a new appointment, a completed job — and then executes a sequence of tasks automatically: sends a text, updates a spreadsheet, emails a follow-up, creates a task in your CRM, posts a notification to Slack.

Instead of you or a team member doing the same manual steps 20 times a week, the system does it in under a second, every time, without forgetting. For most local service businesses, the first automation we build pays for itself in the first month from recovered leads alone.

The platforms we build on

We select the right tool for each project — not the one we're most comfortable with.

Preferred
n8n
Our primary platform for complex custom workflows. Self-hostable, no per-task fees, and fully client-owned. Handles any API, any data, any logic.
Visual workflows
Make
Excellent for integrations across 1,000+ apps with a visual drag-and-drop interface. Ideal when a client needs to manage the workflow themselves after handoff.
All-in-one
GoHighLevel
Full CRM + automation + pipeline + reputation management in one platform. Best for service businesses wanting everything centralized with minimal integrations.
Existing setups
Zapier
When a client already has Zapier running and needs expansion, we work within what's there rather than migrate everything.
Custom builds
Direct API
When no off-the-shelf platform covers the use case, we build a direct integration using the APIs of the tools you already use.

The four automations that move the needle most

These are the highest-ROI starting points for local service businesses.

Speed to lead
Automated lead follow-up
When someone submits your contact form, they get an automatic text within 60 seconds — before they call your competitor. Then an email 1 hour later. Then a follow-up 3 days later if no reply. Studies consistently show the first business to respond wins the job 78% of the time. Most businesses respond in hours. This puts you at 60 seconds.
Always on
AI chatbot (website)
Trained on your business — services, pricing, service area, FAQs — and deployed on your website. Handles the 3am "do you do X?" questions, qualifies leads, and routes inquiry details to you by morning. Captures contact info from visitors who wouldn't have filled out a form.
Reputation engine
Review request automation
After a job closes, the system texts the customer a Google review link 24–48 hours later — when satisfaction is highest. Businesses using automated review requests consistently generate 3–5x more reviews than those who ask manually. More reviews means higher map pack rankings.
Scheduling
Online booking system
A booking flow connected to your real availability. Customer books, gets instant confirmation, gets a reminder text the day before. No back-and-forth scheduling calls. Especially high-value for businesses where phone tag causes 20–30% of appointments to fall through.

How automations get built

Six stages from "here's what we do manually" to "it runs itself."

01
Workflow mapping
Document exactly what the process looks like today — every manual step, every tool touched, every decision point. We need to understand the current state before we can improve it.
02
Logic design
Define triggers, conditions, and actions. What fires the workflow? What are the branch conditions? What does each step actually do? Documented before a single connection is built.
03
Integration
Connect every platform involved — your CRM, email, SMS, calendar, Google Sheets, whatever the workflow requires. API connections established and authenticated.
04
Testing
Live tests with real data through every branch of the workflow. Edge cases tested — what happens if the form is incomplete? If the API times out? If a field is missing? Fixed before launch.
05
Handoff
Walkthrough call: here's what was built, here's how to monitor it, here's what to do if something looks off. All credentials transferred. Full documentation delivered.
06
Support window
30 days of active monitoring after launch. If something unexpected happens in the real world — an API changes, an edge case wasn't covered — we fix it at no additional cost.

Ownership, credentials and what happens after

Every automation is built in your accounts, under your credentials, connected to your tools. After handoff, you own and operate it independently.

Full transfer on delivery

You receive: platform account access (n8n instance, Make account, GHL account — whichever applies), all API credentials used in the workflow, a written workflow map documenting every trigger, step, and branch, and a 30-minute walkthrough recording you can refer back to.

No RC Marketing subscription required to keep the automation running. No monthly fee to maintain access to what you paid to build. If you need updates six months later, we'll quote the change — but you're not locked into anything.

On ongoing maintenance: Most automations run without attention for months. When they do need updates — an API changes, a new use case emerges, a platform migrates — we offer optional maintenance retainers at $100–300/month depending on complexity, or one-off quotes for specific changes. Neither is required.

Common questions

No. All monthly plans are month-to-month. Cancel with 30 days written notice, no penalty, no runaround.
Starter sites typically launch in 5–7 business days. Standard sites take 10–14 days. Pro sites are 2–4 weeks depending on scope. You'll have a clear timeline before any work starts.
Yes, 100%. All code and content is yours from the moment it's built. If you ever stop working with RC Marketing, you take everything with you — no hostage websites.
Hosting on fast servers, security updates, content changes (hours vary by plan), uptime monitoring, and monthly performance checks. Starter: 2hrs/mo. Standard: 4hrs/mo. Pro: 8hrs/mo.
I track which leads and sales come directly from the ad campaigns using conversion tracking. At the end of each month, 10% of that attributed revenue is invoiced alongside the $500 management fee. Everything is shown transparently — no black boxes.
Yes — 100%. I work with local businesses across the US remotely. Location has never been a barrier to getting results online.
